Family tradition
Established in 1896 by Joseph McCormick, the company started out constructing storm sewers. It gradually moved into general construction work, including concrete work. In 1927 John J. McCormick joined his father Joseph in running the business. In 1953, Joseph McCormick Construction bought an asphalt plant in Meadville, PA and started concentrating on asphalt contracting. The plant was moved to its current location in Wesleyville, PA in 1955. In 1959, John McCormick, Jr. took over the company with his brothers Tim and Rich . In 1999, Owen McCormick became the sole owner of Joseph McCormick Construction. Under Owen’s leadership, Joseph McCormick Construction has established itself as a premiere asphalt paving and heavy construction contractor in NW Pennsylvania. We look forward to the next generation of growth and prosperity at Joseph McCormick Construction.
